MAOMI receives the GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2023!
After the first nomination of our wall installation HOOKS in August, we have now received the happy news that our unique coat hooks have received the German Design Award 2023 in the "Furniture" category.
The German Design Award is presented by a renowned jury to manufacturers and designers who enrich the international design-oriented scene with innovative products and projects and set groundbreaking trends in the design industry.
HOOKS are a coat rack and object art at the same time. The form comes from the hand of the ceramic artist we work with. In Sri Lanka, the mold was taken directly from it, cast from natural stoneware, fired, glazed and fired again - a workshop-to-workshop design that connects across countries.
Hand-cast from high-quality material, the HOOKS combine minimalist clarity with strength and naturalness. In color and shape they are reminiscent of pebbles that have been finely polished by water.
We are proud that the careful craftsmanship that brings our HOOKS to life, but also the inspiring artistic conception from which the design and idea emerged, has been recognized by this award.
