NATURAL RAW MATERIALS AND ANCIENT EXPERTISE MEET HIGH-QUALITY DESIGN

MAOMI x VIETNAM

Our production facility in Vietnam impressed us both from a craftsmanship perspective and in terms of the company's social standards. The company is part of an international development cooperative that is committed to economic and ecological sustainability in developing and emerging countries.

We spent four weeks on site at the factory in Vietnam. Our producer and his team have craftsmanship skills and knowledge that are based on many years of working with porcelain. At the same time, the owner of the manufactory offers her 80 or so employees labour standards in the form of health and social insurance.
The hierarchies in the company are flat, management and workers eat together, men and women meet as equals. At 12 o'clock sharp, the chef rings the bell for the 90-minute lunch break, and at 4 o'clock sharp, after seven hours of work, everyone starts their scooters and drives home to their families.

Last but not least, the porcelain workers in our factory are paid significantly better than in other workshops. Fair wages and purchase prices also mean that the expertise remains in the company and wage dumping and migration trends within the manufacturing industry are counteracted.
